Glendora Unified board welcomes three new administrators for 2025–26 school year

Glendora Unified School District trustees introduced three new administrators at their Aug. 11 board meeting, naming Dr. Amber Green as principal of Glendora High School, Brian Elrigi as assistant principal for curriculum and instruction at Glendora High, and Kristen Gelson as assistant principal at Samberg Middle School.
Superintendent Dr. DeGrazia described extensive, multi-stage selection processes for each position and said the finalists were vetted by panels that included teachers, classified staff, students, parents and outside principals. "Dr. Green emerged as the clear choice," DeGrazia said, noting her more than 24 years in education and leadership roles in nearby districts.
"I want every student at GHS to feel seen, supported, and challenged to be their very best," Dr. Amber Green said after being introduced, thanking her family who attended the meeting.
Board members welcomed the new administrators and praised the district’s convocation earlier that day. Trustees said they had seen strong community and staff enthusiasm at the convocation and encouraged the new hires to be visible on campus and engage with families and teachers.
Brian Elrigi, introduced for the curriculum and instruction role, said he was "pleased to join this school district" and looks forward to working with staff to expand instructional programs. Kristen Gelson, joining Samberg Middle School, said she is "grateful for the opportunity to serve students, families and community of Glendora" and emphasized relationship-building.
The introductions concluded with applause and a brief photo opportunity. Board President Clifford opened public comment and reported there were no public comment cards.
Superintendent DeGrazia reminded the audience of the district’s upcoming professional learning focused on MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support) and the first day of school on Aug. 14. He also urged extra caution around school sites because of increased light-rail testing near several campuses ahead of a planned extension opening on Sept. 19.
The meeting then moved on to action items and passed several motions later in the agenda.
