Board approves travel to preparedness summit, accepts minutes and financial report
Summary
During its March 10 meeting the Middletown Board of Health approved excusing several members, accepted the February minutes and financial report, and authorized out‑of‑state travel for staff to a preparedness summit with costs to be reimbursed by a health collaborative.
The Middletown Board of Health on March 10 completed routine administrative business and approved a staff travel authorization.
The board voted to excuse several absent members after a motion and roll call (motion carried). Following that, members unanimously approved the February 2026 minutes and voted to receive and file the February financial report; staff stated the budget is “in target” and doing well.
On new business the board considered an out-of-state travel request for a staff member to attend a preparedness summit listed in the meeting packet as the "Nacho preparedness summit," scheduled April 12–16. Shandra, a health department staff member, told the board the event would be largely paid for by the sponsoring health collaborative and that the department would be reimbursed on return. “They are paying the vast majority of this conference…and it’ll be fully reimbursed when I return with receipts,” Shandra said.
A motion to approve the travel authorization was moved, seconded and passed on roll call.
No citizen comments were received at the meeting. The board adjourned at about 8:14 a.m.
