Council members asked whether the targeted buildings lacked beneficial camera coverage now; staff confirmed that some buildings did not have cameras in helpful locations.
Committee members approved the item by consensus; the clerk recorded a 7–0 result among those present. Staff said the cameras are intended as both a proactive safety measure and a response to past facility incidents where additional footage would have helped.
