Derek Fischer told the St. Bernard Village Council on Nov. 21 that his shop, DF Designs Jewelry and Repair, is open at 4711 Vine Street and will offer repairs and custom work. "I am extremely proud to announce that DF designs jewelry and repair is open for business," Fischer said, listing services that include chain repair, ring resizing, prong repair, cleaning and polishing, soldering and welding, watch battery replacement, loose-stone tightening and antique restoration.
Council member Mr Estep introduced Fischer and invited him to speak to the council about the new business. Fischer said he was born and raised in Cincinnati, began training in the jewelry trade in 2020, studied at New Approach School for Jewelers in Nashville, and has spent the past four years honing his craft. He gave the shop address and hours — 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday — and thanked the community for its welcome.
Council members welcomed the announcement and asked a brief clarifying question about the hours; Fischer said the hours printed for distribution were correct and would be shared with the council. The presentation concluded with council members thanking the owner and wishing the new business success.
The council received the presentation as an informational item; no formal action was required.
