Polk County Realtors urge support for Fairgrounds levy

A representative of the Polk County Association of Realtors urged the commission to preserve and upgrade the Polk County Fairgrounds and said the association and about 65–70 local realtors support a levy to fund improvements.
At a late public-comment appearance on Feb. 24, Jesse Peterson identified himself as the president-elect of the Polk County Association of Realtors and told commissioners the association supports efforts to preserve and upgrade the Polk County Fairgrounds.
Peterson said the association is actively working with county services and community groups to find financing and support for a levy that would fund upgrades at the fairgrounds. "We find the Polk County Fairgrounds vitally important," he said, and added that roughly 65–70 local realtors back the effort. He said the association’s president, Tim Cable, planned to speak to the commission the following day.
Peterson’s remarks were a public comment and did not prompt a formal action by the commission at that meeting.
