At the March 3 meeting the board considered LEP2, an application by April Mercherson (joined by Gregory and Zion Prasad) for a temporary land‑use permit to permit more vehicles than zoning would otherwise allow and to permit a privacy fence.
Applicants showed a fence blueprint, described landscaping and tree plantings and said they had reduced the number of vehicles since the last hearing. Gregory Prasad told the commission they had planted sod, installed four large evergreens for privacy and that “we are willing to spend $37,000 on lumber and labor to build a fence” to address neighbor concerns.
Staff and commissioners reviewed vehicle allowances under single‑family rules (five cars permitted on site with one inside a garage and four outside for the property size). After clarifying that the request had been reduced to one additional outside vehicle, the board moved to recommend approval to the Board of Commissioners for 24 months, with the condition that the applicant obtain any required variance for fence height where needed; the recommendation passed 4–0.
The Board of Commissioners will hold the final hearing; applicants were told to appear at the BOC meeting scheduled two weeks after the planning commission action.
