Chandler and Chamber propose nonprofit ‘Blueprint’ to build capacity for emerging local groups

If approved, the chamber would open applications in April; 15 agencies would be selected for a four‑month program (June–September) and receive $5,000 each at completion.
Staff said eligibility will prioritize organizations that serve Chandler residents though some grantees may be based outside the city if they demonstrably serve Chandler residents. The pilot year is intended as a one‑time capacity award per organization; council members asked that the program focus on Chandler‑based nonprofits and suggested clarifying selection criteria in contract terms.
Council members praised the chamber partnership and said the networking component is valuable for emerging organizations; staff said they will bring back contract language and eligibility criteria for council approval.
