Weld County approves nearly $20 million motorpool contract and multiple construction, facilities and road contracts

At the Feb. 25 meeting the Board awarded a $19.996 million Motorpool Complex contract to TCC Corporation, approved several additional bid awards and contracts (including G2 Construction and 4XI Industrial), authorized cooperative vehicle purchases totaling $330,654, and approved emergency rooftop replacement work to restore building HVAC systems.
The Weld County Board of Commissioners approved a series of procurement and contract actions on Feb. 25, including a nearly $20 million award for the Motorpool Complex and multiple facility and road‑work contracts.
Toby Taylor of Purchasing said the Motorpool Complex Request for Proposals evaluation concluded that TCC Corporation represented the best overall value, and the Facilities Department recommended awarding bid B2500154 to TCC Corporation in the amount of $19,996,954. The Board approved the award unanimously.
The Board also approved an award for the Dono Household Hazardous Waste Facility (bid B260000006) after the low bidder submitted an incomplete bid missing fire‑alarm and suppression costs; Facilities recommended, and the Board approved, awarding to the responsive second low bidder G2 Construction, LLC for $251,794.
Public Works reported three bids for material hauling services and recommended awarding to the lowest qualified bidder, 4XI Industrial, for a total not to exceed $2,520,000; the Board approved that award.
The Fleet Department asked the Board to approve a cooperative purchase of four class‑5 crew‑cab pickup trucks under a Douglas County IFB; county staff summarized vehicle line‑item costs and presented a grand total of $330,654 for the purchases from Ken Garff Ford (Greeley). The Board approved the cooperative purchase.
Patrick O'Neal of Facilities described emergency replacement of rooftop HVAC units at 1401 North 17th Avenue in Greeley after a January windstorm lifted and damaged units. Staff recommended a direct purchase and installation agreement with MTech Mechanical under the procurement exemption in Weld County Code for urgent repairs; staff reported the work was needed immediately and the Board approved the contract so MTech could begin work.
Other approved items included a $86,385.18 agreement with Central Valley Rural Electric Association to install and maintain street lights for a CR 54/13 roundabout and several temporary road‑closure resolutions tied to water‑main work and detours across the county. All procurement and road items were approved unanimously by the three commissioners present.
What this means: The county’s capital and maintenance programs will proceed to contract execution, and emergency repairs will be scheduled immediately. Board approvals were unanimous among those present; contract execution and contractor mobilization will follow standard county contracting procedures.
