York County commissioners approve budget transfers, reappoint veteran service committee member and accept juvenile grants

Transfers and reparation: The board adopted a resolution to transfer $2,000 from the general fund to the veterans fund (an annual allocation) and to move $816,822.50 from the highway bond account to the inheritance fund to correct a previously duplicated bond payment. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the resolution by roll call.
Veteran Service Committee reappointment: The board reappointed Steve Whitmer to a five-year term on the Veteran Service Committee (term July 1–June 30). Nick Walner, the county’s veteran service officer, said the committee has five members, and Whitmer agreed to serve another term. Commissioners approved the reappointment by roll call.
Juvenile diversion grants: Tristan Theory, York County diversion coordinator, reported the county was awarded community-based (CB/EB) funds and a juvenile services (JS) supplemental award from the state crime commission. Theory said the CB/EB funds primarily cover diversion staff salaries and truancy/attendance monitoring positions; the JS award supplements those roles. The board authorized signatures to accept the awards and finalize the grants.
Executive session: The board voted to move into executive session at 9:14 a.m. to discuss a personnel matter and invited human resources, roads department representatives and the county attorney’s office to attend.
