York County meeting roundup: road work updates, public comment on stadium alcohol and vote to enter executive session

The York County Board of Commissioners opened its meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, completed roll call and approved minutes from the Sept. 17 meeting and the day's agenda by roll-call votes.
During officials forum, a county staff member identified as Harve reported crews were blading roads, hauling gravel and performing one-lane concrete patching on Road G; Harve said concrete patches tend to hold better than asphalt. "We are blading roads. We're hauling gravel and we're patching roads... We're doing it one lane at a time so Cludy can still get in and out," the staff member said.
Willard Peterson of 514 Road 13 used the public-comment period to urge attendance at a regents meeting in Carney and oppose allowing alcohol at the Bob Devaney Center and Memorial Stadium, saying the regents are expected to vote on the matter soon. "I think it would be really important for some people to be there and tell them... don't do that," Peterson said.
Near the meeting's end, the board moved and approved a session to go into executive session at 8:40 a.m. to discuss a general assistance case, citing the need to prevent needless harm or injury to an individual.
No policy votes on funding, zoning or incentives were taken. The meeting included routine administrative business and informational updates; the board deferred a formal acceptance vote on the federal grants announced by staff and did not act on the hotel presentation.
The board recessed into executive session following the motion.
