The Rockaway Township Board of Education on Tuesday held its reorganization meeting, electing Dr. Tomasini as board president and Noel Anderson as vice president and ratifying county election results.
Board members opened nominations for president and advanced Aaron (Dr) Tomasini and Lisa Mzik as candidates. After a roll-call vote the board elected Dr. Tomasini by majority and he immediately took the chair. Nominations for vice president followed, and the board elected Noel Anderson in a subsequent roll-call vote.
The board then moved to ratify the county clerk’s posted election results and to approve the reorganization resolutions. Roll-call votes recorded unanimous approval on the ratification and on the reorganization package.
The reorganization votes followed the formal administration of oaths earlier in the meeting for newly elected members who took their seats before the nominations. With the reorganization complete the board resumed regular business.
What happens next: the board set committee assignments and proceedural housekeeping as part of the reorganized year's work. The public may review posted meeting materials as noted in the board’s meeting notice.
