The Canton Township Planning Commission unanimously approved planning application PZ26-000056, granting TNT Fireworks a 13-day seasonal sales permit at 45001 Ford Road beginning June 18, 2026, and authorizing staff to continue annual renewals when no material changes occur.
Planning staff said the vendor has operated at the Meyer parking lot for several years and that the 2026 plan retains the tent’s prior location while adding a small storage pod west of the tent to hold materials away from the sales area. Staff advised that the pod occupies two parking spaces, meets required setbacks, and that previous years’ approvals allowed staff-level renewals when no material changes are identified.
Chuck Freeze of TNT Fireworks confirmed the pod will keep cardboard and packaging materials more organized. Commissioner Weber moved to approve the application with the usual condition that appropriate building permits and inspections be obtained; Commissioner Foster seconded and roll call recorded unanimous approval.
Staff said they expected to finalize the permit this week and the applicant may begin operations once building‑division sign-off and inspections are complete.
