Council rejects lone bid for Rock Run Embankment, orders re-advertisement

Council discussed options to reduce cost and attract more bidders, including removing the mandatory pre-bid meeting requirement, considering alternate materials and pursuing a permit modification to allow a temporary stream crossing. Councilman Tom Knight moved and Councilwoman Randa Thiele seconded a motion to reject the bid and re-advertise the project with amendments to the bid package; the motion passed unanimously.
The Council provided direction to staff and the consultant to revise the specifications and rebid the project. No further contract action was taken at the meeting; staff will return with amended documents and an updated procurement timeline.
