"Approving a 3% increase for our officers," she said, "is in line, slightly above inflation where we are right now." The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by affirmative responses from members present.
The resolution was advanced and adopted as an emergency to take effect March 16; council members responded in roll call to record the vote. No amendments were proposed during the discussion. The adopted action was limited to setting salaries and ratings; the resolution did not change pension or benefits provisions beyond existing policies.
