The Village of Terrace Park council on March 10 adopted an emergency resolution fixing employee salaries and ratings and applying a 3% pay increase for village officers, effective March 16, 2026.
Mrs. Sharp, who presented the measure from the finance committee, said the 3% increase was designed to keep officer pay competitive with neighboring villages and that the adjustments would be administered based on performance. "Approving a 3% increase for our officers," she said, "is in line, slightly above inflation where we are right now." The council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by affirmative responses from members present.
The resolution was advanced and adopted as an emergency to take effect March 16; council members responded in roll call to record the vote. No amendments were proposed during the discussion. The adopted action was limited to setting salaries and ratings; the resolution did not change pension or benefits provisions beyond existing policies.
Council members did not raise additional funding sources during the discussion; the finance presentation described the increase as part of the village's annual personnel review.
The council proceeded to other business after the vote; no further action on compensation was scheduled at the meeting.
