Board approves Murphy Elevator service agreement; approves claims and closes meeting

The Bloomington Board of Public Works approved a service agreement on April 7 with Murphy Elevator Company to provide preventive maintenance, repair services and on-call coverage for elevators at city facilities including city hall, West Showers, BPD dispatch and multiple parking garages.
Public Works Director Adam Wson said the contract covers monthly preventative maintenance, certifications and on-call repairs, and that there are a few near-term items (one at Morton or Walnut) the contractor will address immediately. Staff reported Walnut Street Garage has been fully released after third-party inspection; Morton Street Garage still has one or two outstanding items that Kone must fix before full turnover.
The board moved, seconded and approved the service agreement. The board also approved claims presented for payment; the transcript recorded the claims amount with ambiguous formatting as "2,80,664.37". With no further business, the chair called for adjournment.
Staff additionally reported ongoing work toward American Public Works Association accreditation, noting final panels scheduled for July.
