Students open meeting with West Park High performance; board praises new district building and scholarship fundraising

Several speakers praised the new district building and thanked facilities staff; one board member singled out Scott Davis for his long-term work on the facility.
Board members also highlighted community fundraising: speakers credited an annual scholarship golf tournament with providing “about $25,000 plus dollars in annual scholarships for our students,” and they noted volunteer and principal participation in that effort. The board also spotlighted partnerships with Sierra College and regional workforce initiatives tied to advanced‑manufacturing training.
The meeting moved from the performance into routine board and committee reports, calendar adoption and other business before adjourning.
