Council hires temporary finance consultant and signs off on false‑alarm management module for police RMS/CAD

The Vero Beach City Council voted on May 5 to engage Raymond Consulting to assist the finance department during a staff transition and ERP implementation and approved adding a false‑alarm management module to the city's new computer‑aided dispatch and records management system.
City manager explained the consulting engagement will be funded from unexpended salary savings for vacant positions and will support completion of the budget, the annual audit and other day‑to‑day finance duties. Council moved and approved the engagement on a 4–0 vote.
On public safety technology, the police chief described the false‑alarm management module as functionality that will streamline alarm renewals, fines and online payments and provide a permit‑client portal. On the revenue split, the chief said: "So we'll get 70% of everything that comes in, the company will get 30%." He told the council the RMS/CAD rollout is on target and that initial implementation work was progressing with vendor training; members discussed a June–July go‑live window.
Both items were approved on recorded roll calls. Council directed staff to finalize contracts and implementation details with the vendors and to return any required follow‑up to the council for routine procurement compliance and budgeting.
