Board approves policy second readings, contracts and personnel items; one abstention recorded

The Fremont City School Board approved multiple consent and staff items in a package of motions and roll-call votes during its meeting.

Items approved included donations (Item 1), an annual contract with Vanguard Sentinel Career & Technology Centers (Item 2), second readings and approvals of district policies (Items 3–6), an administrative memo tied to the calendar change (Item 7), staff resignations and appointments, continuing contracts for qualifying certified staff, administrative contracts (Items 8–14), a personnel contract (Item 15) that carried with one abstention by Mister Price, and returning coaches (Item 16). The board also approved the annual transfer into the classrooms facility maintenance fund (Item 17).

Chair called for motions and the clerk conducted roll-call votes for each item. Voting records were entered by roll call with the following recurring roll-call list: Missus Bloom, Miss Lewis, Miss Lehman, Mister Nally and Mister Price. On Item 15, the vote was recorded with Mister Price abstaining and the motion approved.

The superintendent described Item 2 as an annual set‑aside to cover potential service costs from Vanguard Sentinel Career & Technology Centers. The superintendent also described criteria for continuing contracts (Item 13), noting recipients must hold a master’s degree, have taught at least three of the past five school years in the district, and have building-leader support.

All actions in this package were approved as recorded at the meeting. No amendments were proposed during the roll-call approvals and no executive session or further deliberation was requested.
