Why it matters: The phase‑two schemes will shape student circulation, safety, and community access and feed into construction documents. Staff said permits and final bids remain pacing items but that they anticipate sending a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for board approval in June.
Board questions focused on parking counts, accessibility (elevators, handicap spaces), how schematic designs reflect enrollment and building‑for‑the‑future scenarios, and plans to mitigate construction impacts on staff and students. Staff said they are conducting principal and community engagements through May and early June, will provide back‑to‑school presentations on finalized designs and plan temporary play areas and parking adjustments during construction.
