Hood County Commissioners on May 12 approved a package of financial, audit and procurement items, each by unanimous vote.
The court authorized the auditor to sign an engagement letter with Patilio, Brown & Hill for the fiscal year 2025 audit (cost presented at about $52,380) and approved the payment of invoices for 04/17/2026–04/30/2026 totaling approximately $688,926.67. The commissioners also updated the county’s jury summons charity list to comply with Texas Government Code and remove United Way from the list.
On emergency-services funding, commissioners approved reimbursing North Hood County Volunteer Fire Department for repairs to Engine 26 with expenditures not to exceed $16,000 from capital fund 55 after staff presented detailed repair estimates and safety justifications. Granbury Volunteer Fire Department presented a requested $45,211.11 change order for a quick-attack truck; that request was discussed on the record and will return for a decision in the normal procurement path.
The court also awarded a roof-repair contract for Annex 2 related to storm damage, accepting an insurance settlement and approving the budgeted county portion as presented. Commissioners accepted revisions to county employee policies, adopted a resolution supporting statewide wireless 9-1-1 funding adjustments and authorized the county judge to sign a memorandum of understanding for electronic filing of county land records.
All motions recorded in the transcript passed with recorded voice votes of 'aye' and no opposition.
The auditor and county staff said they would continue routine reporting on invoices, bank reconciliations and financial statements and would bring non-routine requests back to the court for consideration.
