On student fees, staff identified meal price increases as the primary change for 2026–27 after several years without a rate increase. Steve said the food service fund has run deficits since the COVID period and the proposed increases — together with refocusing contracted services to Waunakee customers — are intended to return Fund 50 to a small positive balance rather than continue transfers from Fund 10.
