Glen Lake Park master planning launches; interactive surveys, pop‑ups and draft expected this winter

"The skate park is going to be, you know, a thoughtful element," Matt said, describing the skate facility as one component of a larger, walkable, multiuse park design. He noted the planning team is coordinating with longtime users of the Glen Lake Activity Center site; the community facilities study previously recommended removing the Activity Center building and re‑imagining the area as open park space with multiuse amenities. Staff said public open houses are planned for late winter and early spring, and the goal is to deliver a draft plan for board review soon after.
Board members asked about restroom facilities, parking and nearby development (a greenhouse site was described as in limbo after recent plans were shelved). Matt said restroom needs and parking are part of preliminary concepts but no new restroom building is committed at this stage; the team will test options during outreach.
The board received the update; no formal vote was required.
