NVUSD welcomes DAC report, honors outgoing DAC president and recognizes students of the month

The District Advisory Committee (DAC) presented its annual report to the Napa Valley Unified School District Board of Education, outlining work this year to strengthen English Learner Advisory Committees (ELACs) at school sites and expand parent leadership across the district’s 26 schools.
Cindy Ramirez, DAC president, and other committee leaders described parent engagement efforts and capacity-building that support multilingual families; trustees thanked the committee and formally recognized outgoing president Cindy Ramirez for nine years of leadership. Superintendent Dr. Museetti presented a commemorative plaque and praised Ramirez for strengthening pathways for families to participate in district decision-making.
Board members also recognized students of the month from Vintage High (Hudson Fish Leader and Diana Hernandez) and New Technology High School (Vivian Yarn Garcia and Mate Cervantes Perez). Presentations highlighted academic achievement, leadership, and extracurricular involvement; students addressed the board to thank teachers and describe their postsecondary plans.
The board emphasized that the DAC’s work has supported Measure B efforts and broader parent engagement, and trustees encouraged continued partnership as new DAC leadership transitions into coming year.
