The Edina Public Schools Board of Education held a series of procedural votes at its May 11 meeting.
The board voted to approve the meeting agenda and later approved the consent agenda after the standard call for removals. In the action portion of the meeting the board approved the Intermediate School District 287 long‑term facilities maintenance expenditure budget for fiscal year 2028; administration said Edina’s proportionate share is $144,614, a $876 increase over fiscal 2027. “We recommend that you enact that resolution so that we can get that information over to 287,” Finance Director Mert Woodard said.
The board also voted to approve three routine policy updates following committee review: policies 515, 708 and 812. Discussion on policy 708 included clarifying exceptions for procurement (travel, conventions and conferences) and an administrative recommendation to increase per‑diem rates to align more closely with federal guidance.
