Carrolton Village Council approves grant application for Canton Road sidewalk, planning actions and land option

Carrolton Village Council on Feb. 9 approved a resolution to apply for funding to design and engineer a proposed sidewalk along Canton Road (State Route 43) and cleared several routine planning and administrative items.
Mayor William J. Stoneman read Resolution R#2026-04 as an emergency after Council member Locke moved for an emergency reading and Council member Tangler seconded. The council then voted 6-0 to approve sending an application to the OMEGA Regional Transportation Planning Organization’s capital allocation program to seek financial assistance for design and engineering of the Canton Road sidewalk.
