"I get to spend my days caring for animals, enforcing ordinances that protect animals, and occasionally I get to make sure an animal either makes it to safety or gets returned back to their owners. And that is the best part. That's what it's all about," Hurley said.
She also described the unit's public events, saying it hosts rabies clinics and a "pup meetup," and that additional events can be found on the animal control page on the City of Raleigh website.
