Staff briefed the meeting on federal inmate housing reimbursements that are received into the general fund; the sheriff said recent monthly receipts have fluctuated between about $40,000 and $60,000, with a recent month around $49,000, and that those funds may be reappropriated for county purposes such as replacing aging jail transport vehicles.
Two appraisals for the Knights of Columbus property came in above asking price and inspections were favorable. Commissioners voted to advertise a public hearing on the potential purchase for May 18, 2026, and staff will publish statutory notice language and return to the board after the hearing.
Other business included project updates on fiber and solar infrastructure, fence inspection follow‑ups, bond verification work and an upcoming emergency services drill. The meeting concluded after public comment and a motion to adjourn.
