On parks, commissioners removed or delayed lower-priority items such as picnic tables, some wayfinding signs and one-off kiosks, while retaining funding for higher-priority work including lodge roof replacement and critical building upgrades. Commissioners debated shelter replacement costs, questioned bids that drove high estimates for Bear Trap shelters and left a $120,000 one‑cent reserve placeholder so work can proceed once designs and lower-cost options are finalized.
Board members asked department staff to return with updated cost breakdowns, lists of planned clean-up locations for community cleanup funding, and firmer bid estimates for the lodge and shelters before moving forward with additional appropriations.
