Students honored in countywide Crimestoppers poster contest; winners to receive cash and classroom distribution

Volusia County School and the state attorney’s office presented Crimestoppers poster contest awards during the board meeting on May 12.
Bryce Hammond, the district’s visual‑arts specialist, introduced state‑attorney representatives who handed out certificates and cash prizes to winners at the elementary, middle and high‑school levels. County prizes were announced as: third place $100, second place $150 and first place $200; two grand‑prize winners will additionally receive $500 and have their posters distributed to classrooms across four counties.
County winners announced by name included (elementary) Penelope Diaz, Anna (county grand prize mention), and Damian Pope; (middle) McKenzie Farah, Kamora Dixon and Anky Shai; (high) Leila Modern, Quesa J. Payne Lee and Jordan Pacetti. Officials said grand‑prize posters will be placed in every classroom across participating counties as part of a safety and prevention campaign.
The district praised student creativity and the partnership with the state attorney’s office and Crimestoppers, and attendees took photos with winners following the recognition.
