Council Member Prito asked whether the ordinance would require new meters or impose additional costs on residents; the utilities director replied that meter replacement is part of an ongoing program with roughly 3,000 meters replaced a year and that the ordinance does not impose additional costs for the new meters.
Council opened and closed the public hearing with no speakers, then voted to pass and adopt the ordinance unanimously.
