CRA approves Colliers streetscape agreement for one block of 1st Street

The City of Lake Wales Community Redevelopment Agency voted to approve a Colliers project leadership agreement to complete streetscape work on the north side of 1st Street between Park Avenue and Orange Avenue.
City staff told commissioners the single-block scope is not part of the RAISE grant and therefore required a separate Colliers contract. The presenter said the fiscal impact for the engagement is $35,700, described during the meeting as “$8,925 per month for 4 months.” Staff also characterized the broader 1st Street effort as part of a project with a total value above $1,000,000, with the RAISE-funded portion covering other blocks.
A commissioner moved approval, a second was recorded, and the board approved the agreement by roll call with all voting in favor.
The contract covers project leadership and supervision for that one block; staff clarified Colliers has been active on the overall project and was participating on the call during the presentation. City staff noted Colliers had not yet been paid under a separate agreement covering the RAISE-funded portion of the streetscape work.
Next steps: staff will finalize the Colliers engagement and proceed with coordination for the block-level streetscape work; no amendments were proposed during the meeting.
