A property owner raised a related alley sewer issue and urged the city to include those older cast‑iron pipes in future budget planning; staff said sewer replacements are planned separately but acknowledged the long‑standing risk in older alley infrastructure. The public works director also said impact fees could be used to cover part of the upgrades, noting staff had discussed the option with the appropriate finance staff.
Commissioners did not take immediate action at the work session; staff indicated the quotes are coming before the commission for approval and that funding sources have been identified as part of the capital plan.
