Carolyn Ali, the town’s contracts and procurement manager, opened the bid submission record at 2:15 p.m. May 11 in council chambers and identified the solicitation as 26-14-PW for irrigation and landscaping installation, repair and maintenance.
Ali said the solicitation was advertised April 6, 2026, and that bids were required to be submitted electronically through DemandStar by 2:00 p.m. local time on May 11. She noted one addendum was issued and that late submissions would remain unopened.
Ali read the two bids received. "Matanzas Enterprises LLC" submitted a bid of $463,520. "Tidewater Landscape" submitted a bid of $649,391.50. Ali said all bids will be reviewed for responsiveness and responsibility.
She listed post-award requirements, including a certificate of insurance due within 10 business days after notice of award or notice of intent to award. Ali said the town reserves the right to waive informalities, to reject any and all bids, and to make awards in the best interest of the town of Fort Myers Beach.
The award recommendation is tentatively scheduled for presentation to the town council on Monday, June 1; bid results will be posted on DemandStar. Ali closed the bid opening at 2:17 p.m.
