Finance Committee Chair Eric Newman told the Bossier Parish School Board on May 7 that auditors presented a favorable financial and AUP report for the district and the associated educational excellence fund. "In her own words this was a great report," Newman said, commending staff for their work.
The committee reported February and March financial statements and recommended approval of meal prices for the 2026–27 school year and one-time $2,000 summer 'sendoff' supplement guidelines for May 2026. The full board voted to approve both recommendations during the meeting.
Several routine personnel and administrative items were also approved: minutes of the April 16 regular session, the May 7 meeting agenda, a job description proposing Carrie Douglas take the purchasing and financial lead for child nutrition (with an administrative hire to handle personnel), and the reactivation of the school administrative assistant job description to provide hiring flexibility. Trip requests and other routine committee recommendations were approved by voice vote and electronic confirmation as recorded in the meeting.
The meeting record shows motions made and seconded (for example, a motion on the minutes by Mr. Wiggins and a second noted in the transcript) and the clerk recorded that motions "passed" or "carried"; detailed roll-call tallies for these approvals were not included in the verbal minutes beyond direction to vote electronically and general confirmation that motions carried.
