TAC approves two TIP amendments, including $100,000 for I‑25 interchange safety work

The Mesia Valley MPO Technical Advisory Committee on May 7 approved two amendments to its federal Transportation Improvement Program.
Dominic Lawyer, MPO staff, told the committee the first amendment (TL0000120) reduces Roer Transit’s capital equipment allocation in the 5307 program to $32,000 and local general funds to $8,000, for a new total of $40,000. "This project will have no effect on current performance measures," Dominic said.
The second amendment (LC0000382) adds $100,000 in STFNC funds to cover construction engineering for interchange ramps and lighting at the I‑25 England interchange. Dominic said the change will affect the MPO’s safety performance targets and that BPAC recommended approval at its last meeting.
Harold Love moved the TIP amendments and Andreas Len seconded; the committee approved the measure by voice vote.
The amendments will be transmitted to the governing board for final action. Dominic said staff will include the BPAC recommendation in that submittal and that the amendments reflect adjustments needed to advance construction engineering and transit capital work.
The committee then moved on to TPF project prioritization and other agenda items; no public testimony was recorded on the TIP amendments.
