School board approves policy updates and moves to closed session for personnel and safety matters

Mr. Hill made the motion and Mr. K seconded.
The roll call on the policy package recorded six votes in favor and one opposed: Mr. Daniels (yes), Miss Dobson (yes), Mr. Hill (yes), Dr. Hubach (yes), Mr. K (yes), Miss Parvis (yes), and Mr. Hullbrook (no). The chair announced, "The ayes have it, six, Mr. Chair." The board then voted to convene a closed meeting citing Virginia Code —or personnel and for consultation on school safety; the motion passed.
After the closed session motion and certification process, the board returned to open session and approved the consent agenda without recorded opposition.
What happens next: the updated policies will be incorporated into board documents and administrative regulations will be reviewed for any needed implementing language; closed-session matters were certified in accordance with required FOIA procedures and will be handled per board direction.
