Mr. Vigani presented the district’s unsung‑hero award to Emma Maher, noting her academic rigor (six AP courses and nine honors classes) and leadership while persisting with a visual impairment. "Emma exemplifies what it means to overcome obstacles," he said.
Administrators recognized Isaiah ("Isa") Patel as salutatorian and Simron Botla as valedictorian. The presentations cited academic records and extracurricular leadership: Simron was described as graduating with a 4.874 GPA and planning to attend Georgia Tech to study biomedical engineering; Isaiah was noted for membership in the STEM academy and earning 33 college credits through district programs.
The district also recognized 41 graduating students who earned the New Jersey Seal of Biliteracy, an award that indicates proficiency in English and at least one other language; staff members called recipients individually to receive certificates.
Board members and the interim superintendent praised teachers and support staff as part of Teacher Appreciation Week and congratulated the graduating class for a year of accomplishments.
