At the end of the May 12 meeting, the House Appropriations Committee discussed scheduling and upcoming floor activity.
Committee members said a guest will appear at 9 a.m. the next day to speak about a UVM multi‑purpose matter and that a floor request will seek permission to withdraw the committee’s prior amendment to S243 and accept a substitute from House Human Services. "On the floor tomorrow, Marty is going to ask for permission to withdraw our amendment," the chair said, adding the committee would conduct any necessary straw polls.
Members also noted that one bill would move to Thursday to allow counsel time to finalize language; the chair said the change would not affect the underlying money in question for the language justice item, which remains funded through the office of racial equity for translation and emergency management language services.
The committee closed the session after briefly reviewing possible bills to be sent to the floor later in the week.
