At the May 12 meeting Blue Earth County commissioners confirmed several personnel and election matters: the board appointed Josh Milo to the position of executive director, reappointed Dan Robinson to the County Board of Appeal and Equalization for a three‑year term, accepted a resignation from Commissioner Mark Peop effective Nov. 1, 2026, and approved a resolution calling a special election to fill the District 3 seat concurrently with the November regular election.
The appointment of Josh Milo was moved and seconded and carried. Administration also presented multiple routine HR items — hires, resignations and recruitment authorizations across several departments — which the board approved as informational and procedural actions.
Regarding the commissioner’s resignation, staff explained the timing was intended to allow the vacancy to be filled through the regular November election rather than triggering a separate special election expense; the board accepted the resignation and passed a resolution scheduling the special election for District 3 at the November election date.
Dan Robinson’s reappointment to the Board of Appeal and Equalization was moved, seconded and approved. The board also conducted routine approval of minutes and bills during the administration section of the meeting.
