Board approves E‑rate bids to replace wireless access points and run fiber to ag building

The board approved E‑rate bids to refresh the district’s wireless infrastructure and to install fiber to the agricultural building.
Scott Hershberger said the district’s existing access points will be out of service this fall and recommended replacing and adding APs across the elementary, junior high and high school to improve coverage. He also described a separate project to run fiber from the elementary to the ag building to support internet and networking services there. The board approved the bid with Network Services by voice vote.
Scott told the board the E‑rate process produced two bids and staff recommended the larger wireless package along with the fiber link to support the ag building’s connectivity needs.
