The Franklin Economic Development Council on May 15 found G&H Orthodontics in compliance with the terms of KC 2026‑10 after a company update from new CEO Bill Hunt and HR director Jim Murin.
Hunt, who said he has led the company for about three months, told the council the company’s capital investment and average wages exceeded expectations but that employment targets set in the original application have not yet been met. "Manufacturing is a team sport and so the employees need to be here in Indiana, specifically Franklin," Hunt said, describing efforts to recruit locally and reduce reliance on remote contractors.
Company representatives said turnover and leadership transitions may have created apparent discrepancies in reported salary totals and average wages between 2024 and 2025. Murin, the HR director, said floor positions are semi‑skilled and that the company trains hires; he gave a typical hourly range for shop‑floor roles of about $16–$19 and said technical positions such as quality or regulatory engineers could start in the $60,000–$65,000 range.
Hunt also discussed acquisition activity and a plan to grow sales: he said an offer to acquire a business named Orthotech (Mexico) had been accepted, that a small number of welding jobs ("maybe five or six") have moved to Franklin already, and that he expects the acquisition to close in September. He said acquisitions could accelerate overall employee growth but do not guarantee all jobs locate in Franklin.
Council members asked for a timeline for hiring and asked the company to return with clarified payroll numbers if inconsistencies remain. After discussion, a council member moved and the council voted to find KC 2026‑10 in compliance "with an eye on this next year" and asked staff to monitor progress.
The council noted Hunt’s personal announcement about a recent adoption and thanked company representatives for the report. The compliance finding does not by itself alter any existing agreements; the council will watch implementation during the coming year and requested follow‑up updates as recruitment and any acquisition activity proceed.
