A board member said the department “has made tremendous strides” since Nick’s arrival and that another staff member, Jason, will continue to cover operations while the board searches for a replacement.
The board moved to accept Nick’s resignation; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Nick said he will remain available as a resource during the transition and that he expects to relocate in the coming weeks.
The board did not set a firm final date in the meeting and did not announce a hiring timetable; members said they would coordinate interim coverage and follow up with next steps outside the public session.
