Councilmember Polvani‑Kirkland reviewed the agenda and the annual re‑adoption of the codified ordinances, noting that the re‑adoption is an annual exercise to ensure the city’s ordinances are current and publicly searchable. “These ordinances will be updated as of their entry through December 31st of 2025,” Polvani‑Kirkland said.
The mayor’s proposed FY2026–27 budget was noted as having been presented to the council on March 23, with departmental presentations occurring at Committee of the Whole meetings on March 30, April 6, April 20 and May 4; presentations will conclude May 11. Council will vote on the budget on May 18, 2026, the clerk said.
Procedural business carried by voice vote: the minutes for April 20, 2026 were approved and the consent agenda was adopted. Council also referred the two public hearings (codified ordinances and the budget) to Committee of the Whole for further consideration.
What happens next: Committee of the Whole will complete remaining budget presentations on May 11; the council is scheduled to consider and vote on the budget on May 18. No substantive budget decisions were made on May 4.
