Westside Narcotics Task Force details large seizures and a trafficking prosecution

Deputies executed search warrants in DeBary and in an adjacent county and said they seized drugs, firearms and cash. "We seized about 10 grams of cocaine, 12 grams of marijuana, almost $20,000 in cash, an AK-47," Cameron said when describing the initial DeBary search-warrant results. In related simultaneous actions he said officers recovered larger quantities in the other jurisdiction (roughly 240 grams of cocaine, 80 grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl and oxycodone) and additional firearms; he reported trafficking charges and said the subject received a 30-year sentence in one jurisdiction.
Cameron told the briefing the task force also executed other search warrants in Orange City and nearby areas that produced fentanyl, oxycodone and other controlled substances; several subjects remain in custody on high bonds. Officials said the fentanyl amounts seized could represent many lethal doses depending on potency.
Sheriff's-office representatives said the task force is coordinating with neighboring jurisdictions and statewide prosecutors on multi-county investigations and that seizure evidence is being consolidated across agencies. "We are pumping through a bunch of stuff here," Cameron said, summarizing the volume of cases and seizures.
The briefing noted ongoing prosecutions and detentions but did not provide court schedules or additional charging documents; detectives and prosecutors will handle next steps for formal filings.
