Harrison council approves budget changes to fund street repairs and signal design

A motion to approve was made and seconded before the roll call vote returned all "yes" responses.
Mayor Ryan Grubs and councilors said the payments reflect ongoing infrastructure priorities and leveraged grant opportunities. During discussion a council member summarized the package as funding tied to several improvement projects and emphasized that the $90,000 was for engineering related to a grant-supported signal upgrade.
The ordinance does not change the projects’ scope but moves money between city funds to permit engineering and construction schedules to proceed. Council and staff noted the Harrison Avenue signal upgrade design is at an engineering-only stage and that further appropriations or construction contracts will follow as design and procurement proceed.
The council approved the measure on roll call; recorded affirmative votes included the council majority present.
