Mayor Hardman presented a proclamation at the April 14 Sharonville City Council meeting honoring the Princeton High School boys basketball team for winning the 2026 Ohio state championship and proclaimed April 14, 2026 as Princeton High School boys basketball day in Sharonville.
Mayor Hardman read the proclamation listing team members and coaches, saying the team "has demonstrated outstanding skills, teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication throughout the season" and that the team "has brought honor and pride to their school, their families, and their community." Head coach Brian Wyant and other staff were named in the proclamation.
Senior player Jordan Johnson addressed the council and said, "My name is Jordan Johnson. I am a senior at Princeton. Uh, I just want to say thank you all for the day, for the proclamation, and just inviting us here." Johnson described the season as difficult but successful because the team "stayed together on and off the court" and executed during the playoff run.
The mayor invited the team and coaches to join council for a photograph; no formal council action was required for the proclamation.
