On Nov. 18, the North Olmsted City Council voted 7–0 to extend the Planning & Design Commission’s 30‑day deadline to report on rezoning Ordinance 2025‑100 by 30 days.
Councilman Patrick Limpert moved to extend the deadline and Councilman Shymske seconded the motion. Council President J. Brossard called the roll; Council members voted yes, and the extension passed 7–0. Limpert said the extension would allow the Commission additional time to prepare its recommendation instead of triggering an automatic favorable recommendation when the 30‑day limit expires.
Why it matters: Under the city process described by Council, the Planning & Design Commission ordinarily must report to Council within 30 days of first consideration; failure to do so results in an automatic favorable recommendation. The extension is strictly procedural and does not represent a Council decision on the merits of any rezoning.
