Director Upton told Council the combined grant funding exceeds $1.25 million and amounts to roughly 60 percent of the project's cost. City Engineer Filarski described the stormwater basin area, saying the design will provide capacity for approximately 4.5 million gallons of stormwater, include an eight‑foot‑wide walking path with grass edges, and feature plantings intended to attract pollinators.
Committee members voted 3–0 to recommend Resolution 2025‑105 to Council. The administration said improved stormwater handling will reduce localized flooding risk in the project area. The project will be advertised for bids and proceed following procurement and Board of Control review.
