Council moves forward with $1.65M in street resurfacing and annual maintenance bids

The committee recommended Resolution 2025‑107 to advertise for bids for asphalt resurfacing. Filarski also summarized an annual cracksealing program at an estimated $80,000 (Resolution 2025‑108) and a pavement‑marking contract estimated at $190,000 (Resolution 2025‑109); the committee voted to recommend each resolution 2–0.
Council members explained residential streets are scheduled differently (pavement markings omitted this year for residential streets to save costs), and the administration said the street‑rating analysis completed in 2023 was used to set priorities. The resolutions were placed on the Dec. 2 agenda for Council action and will proceed to advertise for bids, with award authority to the Mayor following Board of Control approval.
