Mr. Dear thanked local volunteers and high-school students who assisted as station leaders.
He reported a sophomore community-service day run with the Millersburg Upper Paxton Township Historical Society and the Millersburg Borough, during which students cleaned the Riverfront Park and received lunch and activities from the historical society. The Street Law class visited the Dolphin County Courthouse to observe a criminal trial and to meet the presiding judge; the visit was coordinated in part by a family member of a staff member.
Mr. Dear also recognized students at the Voice of Democracy banquet and named local placings: Chase Adams (first locally, third in district), Michaela Haynes (second locally, second in district) and Noah Snider (third locally). He highlighted spring musical concerts, a new rock ensemble, Camp Hein activities, AP classes visiting the Body Worlds exhibit and AP Literature students attending a Broadway performance of The Great Gatsby. Civics classes visited Philadelphia's historic sites after a schedule change caused by a previous government shutdown.
Mr. Dear closed with upcoming events and thanked staff and volunteers across buildings for supporting students' activities.
He did not propose any policy changes; the presentation was informational and intended to recognize student experiences, volunteer assistance and staff coordination.
